Buitenplaats Holten lies at the foot of the Holterberg, part of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. In that National Park you can see the roe walking in the morning, with a bit of luck you can observe stone marten and badgers and spot as many as 75 bird species. You can enjoy hiking and cycling in the woods and heathlands of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. Nordic walking routes have also been created. Buitenplaats Holten is beautifully spacious and offers you the peace, space and silence of nature, to come all the way.
The World Time Trail in the Holterberg area offers various walking routes. Each route runs through a different period of history. Along the route there are more than 2,000 year-old posts, on which information about the year is mentioned.
